Create the best rental for your guests.


When you start as a new rental owner it can be quite daunting to know what style to implement in your brand new apartment.


How to know what will attract bookings? What is the new trend? And why is interior design so important, aren't guests supposed to just want a place to stay at night and go on with their holidays plans?


Well...The answer is NOT complicated for one!




Look at Interior Design as your BIGGEST marketing tool for tempting your guests into choosing your home rental instead of another one.

Real estate agents have their motto: "location, location,location". However, in Interior Design, the rental holiday location is not the most important element if at all.


When thinking about renting your place, 3 questions come to mind:

  • How can I make my guests feel at home as much as possible?

  • How can I make their experience phenomenal while they are in my rental?

  • and How can I make it as practical as possible?


How can I make my guests feel at home as much as possible and as soon as possible?


When looking into booking a place, your guests will look at ... pictures of your rental.

And if the pictures do not speak to them they will continue to scroll. The exact opposite of what you wished.




Welcome to your new home!

In order to help them decide to choose your home vacation, you will need to have a few pictures of your holiday home that scream "Welcome to your new home". It is as simple as that.


The style is therefore of the utmost importance. Whether you choose industrial, mid-century or bohemian, your interior design style has to be clean, appealing, warm and welcoming.


This is where you have to pay extra attention to your choices in terms of:

  • Furniture

  • Wall Paint

  • Room layouts

  • Colours

  • ... and more



An interior designer can help you choose and guide you in your decision process. This will allow your rental to gain the extra guests it needs.


Welcome book is a MUST!


As a host, you want to give your guests as much information as possible.

That includes:

  • Check in AND check out instructions

  • Information about the country, city they are in.

  • Nice restaurants, bars and clubs...etc

  • Few words (hello, please, thank you...) if the rental is in a foreign country.

The best and very much appreciated is a little booklet with all these information.

That way your guests can take it when they are outside and have a look into all sort of valuable information included in the booklet.


Remember your guests will most likely take the booklet with them to show their family and friends. This will make FREE publicity for you!





Does your town have a lot of unusual or famous places, bakery, museums, architecture, festivals etc..? Put it on the booklet!


It does not have to be a massive book, however it can have the right links, with name, contact details and addresses of the different places mentioned.


How can I make their experience phenomenal while they are in my rental?


In order to make this holidays a real incredible experience, you will have to go the extra mile.

Put in a little extra:

  • Shower robes & slippers

  • Tea bags and coffee

  • Towels

  • Have a boulangerie deliver morning warm homemade bread and croissants

for at least the first morning (it will be so much appreciate from your guests!)

  • Transfers from and to airports

  • Toilet paper (it is never too much!)

  • A Sauna? ... well why not!

...

How can I make it as practical as possible?


As mentioned practicality is key and an airport transfers will be very much appreciated by guests.


So, although splendid, your rental home has to be practical.

Think safety: Ensure smoke detectors are in good working condition.

Equip the kitchen and each floor of the home with a fire extinguisher.

Use a key code box for your guests to use. It easy, handy and you won't need to be there to open the door.






Finally, when it comes to improving your booking rates, having good photos is vital. Use a good camera or a professional photographer.
